Hope your week was peaceful and that you were able to make choices that brought you happiness!  Remember, each of us must find Real Love for ourselves.  There's help and support along the way, but we must do the work to make it happen in our lives.  


Tonight's Pearl:  Happiness Comes from Being Responsible [consistently!]

The last couple of weeks, we've talked about how important the "responsibility" leg of the happiness stool is.  We talked about how taking care of our responsibilities leads to less stress, and taking responsibility to make choices that lead us to feeling loved and being able tolove others is key to creating more happiness is our lives.  All of this is true, and there's another component that's vitally important.  We have to do these things consistently andwholeheartedly.

"Dabbling" in Real Love won't bring us the changes we seek.  Just as dabbling in learning to play the piano won't make us a great (or even good) pianist.  It takes really jumping in and taking the risk to do something entirely unfamiliar and scary. Something that goes entirely against what the world shows us, and what we've been taught.  Like making that call to another person and admitting we don't know what to say, but we know we're feeling alone and afraid.  Like being willing to share the truth of who we are on a conference call or in a group, when we've never done it before.  Being willing to really practice and live the principles, not just read or think or talk about them.  

If you really want to change the way life works for you, you will have to do something different than what you've always done.  (After all, that's what got you where you are!)  And the more consistently you do it, the more powerful (and quick) the changes will be.  

If you feel like you've been around Real Love for a while, but you haven't felt a lot of changes in your life, perhaps it's time to take a look at what you're holding on to and what you haven't been willing to do. Are you still giving up being happy for being right?

I don't know if the gray boxes in The Real Love book are the pearls.  I listened to the book on CD.  But if you email JoAnne at pearlsandprinciples@gmail.com and give her your email address she will start sending you a principle each week before her call.  It has the principle and some really good stuff to think about around that principle.  Hope this helps.  I will look through some of my emails and see if I can copy and paste you one on here so you can see what the emails look like.
