Burning a playable CD from an MP3 with iTunes

Set Your iTunes CD Burning Preferences

  1. Open iTunes

 

  1. Select Preferences from the Edit menu.

 

  1. Click on the Advanced tab, and then click the Burning tab.

 

 

  1. Make your screen exactly like the image displayed above.

 

  1. Right click the Name column in the Library and select Disc Number

 

Add the Audiobook Files to Your iTunes Library

  1. Select Add Folder To Library from the File menu.

 

  1. You MUST have unzipped your audiobook before taking this next step. If you have NOT already unzipped your audiobook, you can find instructions in the following tutorial: http://www.reallove.com/download_tutorial.html

 

  1. Locate the audiobook file you downloaded from RealLove.com, highlight it and click OK. Wait while the copying process is completed.

 

Important—There is one folder containing the whole audiobook with several subfolders, each containing the equivalent of one audio CD.  You want to choose the folder containing the WHOLE audiobook.

 

  1. Once the copying process is completed, go to your iTunes library.  Select New Playlist from the File menu.

 

Important—You are going to create a playlist for each disc you plan to burn.  Example:  If the audiobook you downloaded had 9 discs, you will need to create 9 different playlists.  Disc 1, Disc 2, Disc 3, etcÉ

 

  1. Once all playlists are created, go to your iTunes Library and locate the Artist ÔGreg Baer, M.D.Õ

 

Burn Tracks to Audio CD

  1. If you look at the Disc # column you can see all the tracks that belong on a particular disc. Select all the tracks for the disc you want to burn and drag and drop them to the corresponding playlist.

 

 

  1. Open the playlist by clicking on it.  All tracks you added to that playlist should show up on the screen as illustrated below.

 

 

  1. Insert a blank disc into your disc drive.

 

  1. In the upper-right corner of iTunes, click the circular icon above Burn Disc.  The CD burning process will begin.  When the burning process is over, eject the disc and play it with any CD player.

Mac OS X Tutorial

 

Start by Setting Your iTunes Preferences:

  1. Open iTunes.

 

  1. Select Preferences  from the iTunes program menu.

 

  1. The General dialog box will open.  Select the Advanced icon from the toolbar at the top of the box and then select the Burning tab.

 

 

  1. Configure your settings exactly like the image above.  When finished, click the OK button at the bottom of the dialog box to save your settings and exit.

 

  1. To make it easier to burn the audiobook CDs in the correct order, right click the Name column in the Library and select Disc Number from the menu that appears.

 

Add The Audiobook MP3Õs to Your iTunes Library

  1. Select Add to Library from the program menu.  This will open the Add to Library box.

  1. Locate the unzipped audiobook on your computer, highlight it, and click Choose.  Doing this will add the MP3 files to iTunes.  Please wait while the files are copied.

  1. Select New Playlist from the File menu. Now name your playlist. You can name your playlist whatever you wish, but we suggest including the Disc number (i.e., ÒDisc 1Ó) in the title to make it easer to distinguish the discs after burning them.
